The house you come home to each night shapes your days in recovery. At Synergy, our residences for sober living in Palm Beach Gardens, FL are substance-free homes with clear house guidelines and housemates who are also in recovery. We arrange any clinical care you need separately, including our own PHP, IOP, and outpatient programs.
If you are considering this move for a son, a sister, or a partner, you can call on their behalf to ask about openings and fit.
A Substance-Free Place to Live, With Clinical Care Kept Separate
Sober living is recovery housing: a substance-free home you share with other people in recovery, under guidelines everyone keeps. Our sober living homes in Palm Beach Gardens, FL give you a stable place to live while you manage the rest of your recovery, including clinical care if you need it, meetings, work, and family.
Therapy, counseling, EMDR, case management, and medication management are not part of the residence. You get them from a treatment provider you choose, which can be one of our clinical programs or another provider. You may also arrange community resources on your own, such as mutual-support meetings, employment services, and legal aid.
The National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) sets national standards that describe four levels of support for recovery residences. At Levels I through III, residents access clinical services in the community. Level IV is the only level that provides in-house clinical treatment.

What Does a Week in One of Our Houses Require?
Our sober living in Palm Beach Gardens, FL runs like any adult household, with three guidelines every resident keeps. The first is substance abstinence: every resident stays substance-free. The second is mandatory meeting attendance. The third is household participation, which means doing your share of the work that keeps a shared home running.
You answer to the house and to the people you live with. Housemates share your kitchen and your evenings, so they notice when you slip up. That makes accountability personal and daily.
Recovery residences commonly add other rules, such as curfews, drug and alcohol testing, and guest policies. These vary from house to house. Before you move in, ask us for our current house rules and what happens when someone breaks them.
Who Runs Our Houses, and Why It Matters to You
Every house we operate is overseen by someone trained specifically to run a recovery residence, not just whoever happens to be around. William Rochler, our staff CRRA (Certified Recovery Residence Administrator, a Florida credential), oversees how we manage our houses. We’re also a member of the Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR), the state affiliate of NARR, which holds our houses to standards beyond our own.
What that means for you day-to-day: if a house rule is broken, or something about the house itself concerns you, there’s a specific, accountable person to bring it to. It’s not left to informal consensus among housemates.
The houses and our clinical programs are different things. Treatment, including PHP, IOP, and outpatient, happens at our office, 8895 North Military Trail in Palm Beach Gardens. The houses are where you live, not where you’re treated.
The Benefits of Sober Living
The benefits of recovery housing come from the house and the people in it. Living alongside others who share your goals turns support into part of the daily routine. It shows up in small, practical ways: someone to talk to after a hard day, a house that runs on a shared rhythm, and a place that keeps you steady while you rebuild the rest of your life. No single house or person can promise a specific outcome, but day-to-day structure gives recovery more room to hold.
- Peer support at home. You live with people following the same guidelines, so support is down the hall late at night or after a hard day.
- Structure and routine. Shared house rules and household rhythms give each day a shape and leave fewer hours open and unplanned.
- Practical life skills. Running a home with other adults builds habits in chores, scheduling, budgeting, communication, and working through conflict.
- Stability for work or school. A steady, substance-free base makes it easier to hold a job, return to one, or keep up with classes.
- Gradual independence. Over time, you take on more decisions, schedule, and responsibilities while the guidelines stay in place.
How Sober Living Compares With Residential Care, PHP, and IOP
Residential or inpatient treatment is licensed clinical care, and you live inside the program. At Synergy, we do not provide it in-house. When that level of care is right for you, we coordinate placement with partner providers. Recovery housing can be your next step down, once you no longer need that level of care.
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP) are programs with scheduled treatment hours. When the day’s sessions end, you go home, whether that is your own place or a recovery residence. An assessment determines the right level of care for you.
Sober living provides housing only. While you live in one of our houses, you can attend outpatient care with us or with another provider. That is a separate decision with its own assessment and billing, and no program is required before you move in.

Who Can Benefit From Sober Living? Five Common Starting Points
Sober living in Palm Beach Gardens, FL may fit you in one of five situations. You may be finishing residential treatment, PHP, or IOP and want a structured, substance-free home for what comes next. You may be in outpatient care and need a steadier place to live while you attend. Your current home may not support recovery because someone there uses substances or conflict never lets up. You may have relapsed and want more structure at home, which is also worth raising with a clinical provider. Or you may lack a sober support network, and housemates in recovery can give you daily peer support.
Sober living is not the right fit for everyone. Where you live and what level of clinical care you need are separate decisions. If you need medical monitoring or residential care, that setting comes first, and we may coordinate placement. We can help you sort out both questions.
